Here’s Jason Schwartzman’s introduction to The New Yorker iPad App. The app’s very impressive - probably my favorite iPad version of a magazine yet. Obviously this medium still has a ways to go to really take advantage of the technological possibilities — and in particular, the lack of ability to copy text or share content continues to infuriate me — but the New Yorker’s editorial staff writes very candidly about this point:

Right now, editing for the iPad feels similar to making television shows just after the Second World War, when less than one per cent of American households owned a television. And yet the general flow of things is clear: the digital revolution is already both long-standing and swift; there will be many more iPads sold; and competitors will inevitably follow.
